About GetXed
Built by a Builder. For Builders.
We Know Your Frustration Because We Lived It.
Tim’s spent 30 years in the construction industry. Tim’s poured thousands of yards of concrete, squared up countless pads, and built enough throwaway wood batter boards to fill several dumpsters. He was in the trenches for years day after day. Every single time, it was the same story. Cut the wood. Nail it together. Hope it stays square. Adjust it. Rebuild it when it breaks. Throw it all away at the end. Start over on the next job.
He got tired of it. So he built something better.
This has become a passion project for Tim to make the lives of the construction crews easier.
The Problem We Couldn't Ignore
We were running a multi-unit residential project over the weekend we had a downpour monsoon. It un-nailed the batter boards that we had put together.
We spent 1 hour building wood batter boards. By the next morning, half of them had come unnailed. We rebuilt them. The string lines still wouldn’t hold tension. The layout was off by several feet. You couldn’t even string it because it was so destroyed.
That job cost us hundreds of dollars in wasted labor, time and materials. Worse, it cost us time we couldn’t get back. It pushed back our pour til the following day.
That night, Tim sketched out the first design for what would become GetXed™ . The idea was simple: build a batter board system that actually works. One that adjusts. Doesn’t warp. Doesn’t break. And doesn’t end up in the dumpster after one job.
2.5 years and 3 prototypes later, we had it. A patented, reusable batter board system that does everything wood boards can’t.
Who We Are
Tim Turner
- Years in construction: 30+
- Specialization: Residential and commercial concrete work, foundation and site prep
- Career highlights: Harris Teeter in Mt Pleasant SC outbuilding
- Credentials: RHB 22143, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing
- What drives you: I’ve always believed that if something doesn’t work right, you fix it. That’s what GetXed™ is, fixing a problem every builder deals with. And the amount of wood wasted was enough to make me want to do something about it.
Why I Built This
The construction industry doesn’t need more cheap tools that break. It doesn’t need more complicated systems that take hours to learn. It needs solutions that save time and money from day one.
The problem with wood batter boards isn’t that they don’t work. It’s that they only work once, and barely at that. We calculated that over a 20-year career, the average crew wastes thousands of dollars and countless hours on disposable wood setups.
I built GetXed™ because we were tired of accepting ‘that’s just how it’s done’ as an answer.
This system exists to solve one problem really well: give you layout you can trust, setup after setup, job after job. Everything else is just details.
What Makes GetXed Different
We’re not a general tool company that added batter boards to a catalog. We’re not a manufacturing giant selling through distributors who’ve never been on a job site.
We’re builders who got fed up and did something about it.
That means:
- We test everything on real jobs.
- We stand behind what we sell.
- We support you like crew, not customers. Call us with a question, and you’ll talk to someone who understands what you’re dealing with.

Where We're Headed
GetXed™ is just getting started and we’re growing fast.
Right now, we’re focused on:
Getting the system into the hands of more contractors nationwide
What we’re NOT doing:
We’re not chasing every trend or trying to be everything to everyone. We built one system, we built it right.

Get in Touch
If you’ve read this far, you’re probably the kind of builder who cares about doing things right. You don’t take shortcuts. You don’t settle for “good enough.” You invest in your crew, your equipment, and your reputation. That’s exactly who we built this system for. We’re not asking you to change everything you do. We’re just asking you to stop wasting time on one part of the job that’s always been a pain.
